Okie so here's dish number 5... It's rated YUMMY man! It's fried tofu with creamy lemongrass sauce. I think it's mayonnaise with some lemograss extract or sth... creamy taste with a very distinct lemongrassy slightly sour and sweet taste... The only flaw I could pick with this dish is that the sauce given was inadequate. And look at the way it was presented... reminds me of Ning Meng Cao De Wei Dao... <
After the wonderful lunch... we walked around the mall and then after that we went to watch "Click". I tell you, it's one of the best movies I've ever watched. Bone-tickling, touching and meaningful... all rolled into one nice little sushi handroll. lol. <--- It rhymes! It definitely put the message of "family comes first" very prominently and I say watch the show if you haven't. Worth a 4 and a half stars IMHO. Made me shed some tears too... "Would you still love me in the morning?" The note was so apt too... Yea, watch it and you'll know what I mean...
So after that it was off to City Square. LS wanted to settle down at some coffee joint to chat and have some cake, and when we went back to our usual 3rd story haunt (where they sell cheap sushi which the gourmet-in-the-making a.k.a LS loves), we found to his dismay that the shop selling his beloved sushi has closed. But... it's actually a blessing in disguise, cause a new shop opened in its place which to me is much much better a hang out joint than many others I've been to. It sells like main courses and many other drinks and snacks, HK style. Lurrrrve it. We each ordered a drink, (from left) Organic Wheatgrass Lychee Ice Blended, Chocolate milkshake with ice cream, Cold milk tea, and the first 2 drinks only costed RM5.90! And the glass is huge!
Just watch me drinking it! Ans u can use the size of my hand to compare with the size of the mug.
It was so good LS said "Three more!". No la, he was just striking a pose.
And that's me with the shou xing gong.
Yep. A very sinful chit chat session indeed, along with all the gossiping la (sinful again). Yep. So that was the very sinful long day. (I skipped the dinner part cause there was some unpleasantness, but we got over that). And today... yes the big day as I've told my friends, cuase the superstitious me believed that if I went around telling people that my driving test was today that I would fail.
But guessed what? I PASSED!
Oh but that came after a lot of frightening moments. They include once when I believe I struck the kerb (but for which he did not give me any points... guess it was only a figment of my imagination), and also once where my car bumper was so close to a nother lorry's ass. But the impt thing is that I only got 18 demerit points, a pass.
What a huge load off my shoulder man!
And the adrenenlin rush hasn't subsided. Oh and Lum May Yee was also taking the test with my group. So coincidental lol. Guess celebs are only human too...
So now, I await my license in the mail. But no car yet, and my dad is coming home soon... But it's ok. My time WILL COME!!! Terence pens his legacy at 6:39 PM Absence makes the heart grow fonder Today is one of my closer campmate's bday... Weizhi's birthday. Since LS, WZ and I are kind of like camp buddies, we went to celebrate his bday in JB today... A natural choice it seems. Cause the stuff and food there is significantly cheaper than here back home, so we can feast like kings and not feel *that* guilty. Of course if you factor in the calorimeter then it's a different story hehe... So anywayz, LS was surprisingly on time this time around... must have been the first time in like.... I dunno, I lost count :X And it was wei zhi who was late... Had a feeling that he forgot about today's outing? I mean hello? It's your birthday! We're gonna party like it's your birthday! And you forgot and was still aksing us what time to meet and whether we're still meeting? Lol. But he still came anyway, and not dressed in his usual I'm-heading-to-the-neighbourhood-to-run-some-errands get-up. Hehe. That's so mean. But hey at least I complimented him on his better dressing. It's his birthday! He must have wanted to party like it's his birthday! The customs seem to have known we - oh sorry, I - was coming cause it was empty for the singapore passprts line. Yes, E to the M to the P-T-Y. So we cleared it like breezefully. Cab over to Jusco, and after getting tickets for "Click", we headed to Eastcourt for lunch. They serve... I'll just the pictures do the talking. ![]() This is the interior of the restaurant. Nice little chic modern setting.
This is the first dish, roast pork with tofu. Yummy.
Second dish - Roast duck with Plum sauce. YUmmy! The roast duck still retains its crisp skin and the meat is not too fatty... very good to crunch along.
Third dish - Stir fried chicken cubes in black pepper sauce and capsicum. Um Ummmm... Not too salty unlike most black pepper dishes I have previously tried. YUMmy!
Fourth dish - Shrimp Omelette. Not too oily. Nice fried crispy taste to it. Very well balanced and shrimp ratio very generous. Worth the RM10 it costs. I say YUMMy! Hmm apparently there's something wrong with blogger... pics limit? Ok foodie trail continues in next post... Terence pens his legacy at 11:42 PM National day is coming. Hurray! I am so happy. Wait... before you think I am some overly-patriotic freako (I love my country but hey... I'm no zealot), I am cheering because of the public holiday! And the possible spin-offs of course... Like tomorrow being a half day, the gift (there has to be one right? there was one in primary school, one in sec school and even one in jc I think... the Army should be above the art of cheapskatity right??) etc Don't you just love national day? Oh did I mention? I'll probably be heading in to JB that day to play and dine and shop my heart out. Yep, things are so much cheaper across the causeway! And how can I miss out on the uber exchnage rate of SGD$1 : RM 2.33 (approx). Yup. I am not alone in my thoughts. Based on last year's record (yes, I went in to JB last year on Nat Day too), there was quite a crowd making their way in too... Talk about patriotism haha. That aside, quite a few things have been lined up for me this month, making me believe this month would pass quickly. Which is good. Any period of time while in NS that goes by quickly is always welcome. Makes me that much closer to ORD. And bookings and reservations have all been confirmed for a trip to bangkok this year end with two of my camp's best mates. Can't wait. Bangkok is another shopper's and foodie's paradise. *Brimming with brilliance* Terence pens his legacy at 7:55 PM I'm past worrying about my case. In fact, it was sometime ago that I had this thought. I have always told myself, I can choose to view this in two ways: One, be worrysome and depressed and worry about what might happen, and by doing so, increase the pimple population (pimpop) and unhappiness quotient. Two, I can choose to accept whatever may come and just continue with my life as per normal, taking things in my stride and being as optimistic as possible. I have to stress that this is not escapism. No no... I opted for the second... because there is simply no reason to dwell and sink into the never ending abyss of sorrow. But.... my pimpop is still the same :S *sobs* Other changes in my life: I am also slowly losing losing my addiction to my online game which used to keep me up till 3 or 4am in the night only to go to work the next day a zombie. This is a good sign... I shouldn't have let it control me in the first place... discipline boy! I am wearing contacts once again! After the very clumsy saga of dropping one len into my sink and accidentally flushing it down (I think) my contacts mission took a hiatus. Only to resurface now... hehe. Second time I'm wearing it after some time. :) Met up with my JC clique today at Marina Square. Had lunch at food court, talked about loads of stuff and then we upgraded to Swensen's for a topless 5 and more chitty chatter. I'm very glad to know my friends have reached the point in their lives where they have seen enough to know that money isn't everything. I'm glad I have too... With them I feel like I have buckets of stuff to share and talk about... from travelling (yes most of us are travel freaks who wanna globetrot!) to retirement in small quaint villages to BGF's, S63, uni life, almost everything under the Sun. I rarely get bored around u gals... and for that I thank you, for enriching my life! I also met up with my sec sch pals on Sun... went to town to have lunch and wlaked around, chatted and stuff... also, anotehr group I feel so comfortable with. Yes, I am indeed truly Blessed, Because throughout the many Tests, in my life I still see my Best, friends staying true, and always being There, showing me all their love and Care, these friends are so Rare, worth more than the Chings in the Banks, and for this, I wanna say Thanks. Peace out. Terence pens his legacy at 10:54 PM |
