Hmm it seems I'm not really cut out for the high society... yet

Ok so anyway my dad's bday is next month and he came back on sunday so i wanted to buy a present for him b4 he flies off again...

And i was thinking no point buying cheapo stuff for him cuz obviously he can afford it and it would be quite pointless if sth i give him is worse than sth he is already currently using rite? So was thinking of getting a branded wallet/belt/pen wadeva la...

And my mom was telling me to buy a belt for my dad cuz he doesn't wear a tie and exp pen quite useless

So i wanted to go to paragon and taka to shop at those high class shops... like LV, Cartier, Mont Blanc etc etc

And I was appalled at the prices on display... quite shocking. It's no wonder the sales personnel din really bother to entertain us when we walk into the shops...

And the last straw came when the LV saleman told me all belts dun fall in my budget of $500... Just as well la hor. $500 for a belt is preposterous lor

So we just headed to buy snacks at taka basement 2 then went to coffee bean and had coffee there... Pleasures can come cheap too...

I think I'll just treat my dad to zi char the next time he's back lor...

And I've been feeling damn shagged yday and today... no idea why when i had ample or rather slightly more than ample sleep...

But gym this evening perked me up tt's why i'm blogging!! Haha

Must run more lo...

Feeling rather low... no idea why...

Maybe it's my strife for perfection which doesn't exist by the way but still...

Or maybe I just feel that I could have been doing something more useful with my life at this point over what I am doing currently...

I can only hope I bounce up soon...

Sorry... just needed to get it out of my system... pls ignore if u can't stand this kind of entries...

Oh the FF movie Advent Children is nice... camp mates d/l-ed it and watched a little of it today... Oh and my fren langah his father's car today too... so suay... and I witnessed THE WHOLE incident... luckily no one got hurt and no one's pursuing...

Had a blast of a weekend man! So cool... haven't had one for a real looooooong time lo! Ok so after booking out on sat morning (and also Thank God I managed to get 4 hours of sleep on fri night...) headed home, had a short rest and tuition, then went shopping for games with Lao Da... Then went to watch movie with Jan in the evening...

West Mall: Nightwatch... well it is in Russian, which is quite cool actually... cuz everytime I watch a foreign-language film it makes me feel intelligent and arts-patronistic LOL... yeah, I know...

So anyway it was a blockbuster so it was kind of easy to connect with... except that I quote TODAY, "...too much is happening and too little is explained..." It is true in a way... so many action sequences popping up here n there and most do not show an obvious link...

Got lost a couple of times and had to think about the subtitles which just flashed a few times over before I really understood what just happened. Din help that I arrived late and we missed a short portion of the intro so was a little lost at first -.-'' heh

So anyway we rushed into the cinema trying to look for I 11 and 12 then we came across these sofa seats at the back of the cinema... and bitchy Jan was like:

Bitchy Jan: "Ooi, let's just sit here la..."
Purely nice and ethical and me: "Dun want la... Not our seat. Later get caught will damn malu..."
Bitchy Jan: "Aiya nevermind la. Wun get caught wan la..."

Then bitchy Jan went to seat down on the sofa seat... then purely nice and ethical and me bo pian just follow... Then around 30 minutes into the show... a dark threatening figure walked over... It was just the

Cinema Auntie: "对不起 hor 小弟, 这里不是你们的座位 hor..."
Purely nice and ethical and me: (Thinks) Thanks hor Jan... Shyt, try to think of something to say...
Purely nice and ethical and me: "Orh. 对不起 ar... 因为刚才我们迟近来, 不要错过那个 movie mah, 所以我们才赶快坐下来..." *Meek smile* even tho I dunno if she can see it in the dark or not...
Cinema Auntie: "那现在你们可以到前面去坐了 lor..."
Purely nice and ethical and me: *Meek smile again* "Orh..."

So we missed yet another snippet again... so wonderful

But it still quite nice la... the movie i mean

Then today, I went JB shopping with ray and ren... Heh another me-being-king-with-the-sing-dollar day! We arrived early in JB this morning, due to the surprising absence of jam at the malaysian custom! Like there were only 4 ppl in my queue when there are usually so many la!

Then we had secret recipe for breakfast.

(Clockwise from top left) Ray had a raspberry cheesecake. Ren had a banana chocolate cake. And I had a walnut brownie with vanilla ice-cream. Talk about sinful indulgence...

Then we went to sing our hearts out at Neway KTV for 2 hours... and had fish n chips lunch... all these for just RM16 each! (= S$ 7 plus!!! SO CHEAP!!!)

Then we went shopping after that... bought a billabong tee...

Hmm... so in total, I spent S$21 today. What a bargain for a day of enjoyment! I LOVE JB! Sorry Singapore...

And then Ray n I met Jan for dinner at Sofra Restaurant...

which serves Turkish... Too bad their ultimately fantastic Sultan's Kebab ran out... WHAT A B*TCH LA! I missed it so much leh! But we still ordered a lot of stuff anyway... here's a peek:

We ordered their house specialty for appetisers... which is eggplant, minced beef and some spices baked in turkish bread... with cheese. Was a great start... (it is the 4 -piece thingy in the background)

Jan had Oven Kofte... which is basically meatballs in i guess tomato sauce... along with turkish bread (which smelt GREAT!)

Ray had the "Chef's Platter" which had a bit of everything...

And I had "Iskendar Kebab" which is actually Doner Kebab with tomato-based sauce too... and bits of turkish bread and yoghurt in it too...

Yummy! But we ordered so much so we all left with a very full stomach lol. Talk about slimming down ya!

Yup. Tml is off... and tues is night shift so I'm free in the day... so happy. Long break at last!

Suntan and swim tml... and BTT... maybe some gym too...

I love listening to sad songs... or really touching ones... strangely even tho the former makes me feel so sad and like crying...

I love the episode of "The OC" which showed on Channel 5 tonight... dun u think Coldplay's "Fix You" suits the ending so well? So touching and so heart wrenching at the same time... Esp the Summer and Seth and Julie and Caleb part...

Sigh... sad songs make me feel empty too... Makes me feel like I have to do something to make it up but I just don't know what...

"Fix You"

When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

When the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

High up above or down below
When you too in love to let it go
If you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Yay!!! Parade is over! Feels like a POP I never had...

Anyway welcome back to singapore Lionel! Lol... Wish i had an opportunity to go overseas for short exercises too... Should be quite an experience...

Anyway had dinner with Li at holland v Gelare Cafe last night... their waffle is... well decent? And not too economical too... Tho yesterday was waffle day so got half price... their ice cream (gelati i think...) is also mediocre only?? Lol...

So anyway today was THE parade day... At long last... I tell you the few days of parade rehearsals really BURNT me real bad... I mean it. Maybe I too long nv exercise liao *oopsy!* but ya this morning I woke up and told myself this is the last day i can dong3... one more day will be all it takes to bring me down lo...

The parade went rather smoothly today... Dun think there were any kok-ups... So *clap clap clap*... kind of... Just really relieved that it is over... more than anything else

And back to work tml... Hummmph...

Went to SIm Lim with Lao Da... he wanted to get a MP3 player while I wanted to get a set of speakers for my room... And I think I ended up with a rather good buy... Did some rearranging of my room and I'm damn pleased now! *grinz*

Yep yep... I constantly need NOVELTY in my life! Myabe not too... cuz sometimes I hate changes too... What am I saying???!!!

Myabe tt's why I may wanna be a CQ at my camp... Just afraid that should it wear off (soon) then I may regret...

Oh and I got my phone's GPRS restored today! Dunno ehat happened to it previously... Grr... And I d/l-ed JJ's Jiang Nan as ringtone... Love it! Thanks to Woon for introducing me such a ncie song! Thks! :) :)

Back home after a very long and sian-diaoed weekend spent at my camp... 36 hours straight... ergh *pukes*

But it isn't so bad compared to the stay-in ppl who have to stay in camp for 5 days...

Perhaps the only really painful thing is that it is on Sat and Sun... where plans can be made, outings could have been attended, and rest could have been had...

And it din help that on Sat (the actual confinement, today was duty), we were treated like trashy banglas of no fault of ours... to put it short, we were doing hard laborious work for a previous group of confinees who shirked it off with the help of a VERY slack DOS (that's duty orderly sargeant i think...)

We were digging sand, filling sand bags, filling boxes of sand, shifting them around etc to build a sniper point of sorts... from 10am to 1pm may I add...

Followed by clearing of drains which contained 10 years of fallen, DECOMPOSED leaves, branches, rubbish, cigarette butts, mosquitoes, frogs... U get the hint...

Today was a lucky day tho... not much work... but still the lao-jiaos pushed everything to us cuz they played whole-night mahjong on sat night and were sleeping through today... Thanks... And it seems there's word that new ppl will only be coming in next june... that leaves so much time for me and Lao Da to be newmen... Really appreciated...

Then the CQ (Quarter master of sorts...) of my Depot, 3SG Richard offered me a proposition... He asked me if I wanted to be a CQ... since he will be ORD-ing in February next year... which is soon since the CQ course takes 4 months...

Pros:
-- 3SG rank
-- $500 pay per month (comapred to $350 now...)
-- Can command CQ Men
-- 9 to 6 job
-- Can really be an ass and make ppls' lives difficult if they make yours first

Cons:
-- A LOT of responsibility
-- Answer directly to OC (boss), and no one to cover your ass if u screw up
-- A LOT of politics to play with many parties
-- Ppl may dislike you cuz u have to be strict on arms (rifles)
-- Guard duty...

A dangerously tempting dilemma...

Hmm today is the second day of drill practice for the CSTO parade (that's the Chief of Supply and Transport Officer parade, whereby the top echelons of the S&T contingent of the SAF change hands)...

It was really tiring i tell u... yesterday was the first and the weather was fine but hot as we approached noon... so I was like melting under the hot sun whilst doing arms drill (whcih is so irritating!!!) I'd rather do foot drill la!

It also hit me for how long my body has been atrophying due to lack of exercise... my hands got tired rather easily *oops*! Ya... the handling of the well-i-wouldn't-say-it-is-light gun was... humbling to say the least hehe

Yup and even tho yesterday's drill was only half day *Woo Hoo* (while my other depot mates slog it out in camp I get to go home!!! :D), I slept the whole afternoon away LOL...

And today was a whole day thingy which ended at 5 so I couldn't really say i zuan4 dao4... Plus sembawang is so far! *Ummph...*

So anyway I zuan dao in other areas too... No need to go back to camp tomorrow cuz of duty off (tonight supposed to do night shift if no parade and tml is duty off... means morning go back... for me dun even need to go... get it?)

Coming Monday also off cuz supposed to do night shift but tuesday got parade rehearsal so can't possibly ask me to go back rite? *grinz*

Let's hope we put on a good show tho...

*Confinement in sat!* Shuckanadan... For a stupid reason summore...

Off today! And acty yesterday too but I spent one whole afternoon napping away so there... *pouts* :(

In any case, I am very happy today... Bowling in the morning was quite great... I finally managed to (tyco-ly) do a spin ball and got a strike!!! Like those u see Remy Ong that time Commonwealth or SEA games bowl that type wan... OMG! Should have captured it on cam!!!

But of course only once la... -.-'' I attempted spin balls from thereon but heh heh a lot of long gao balls too :@

In any case, at least I got my moment la hehe... will try harder next time

Then went to Suntec for Food Fest... Erm only one comment... SO EX!!! Everything is in French portions but yet at Swiss prices!! But still it was good food I must say... But I ate a lot!!! And my tummy isn't exactly very flattering now... *Oops*

Hmm what else... Oh a very unhappy thing happened la... asked a supposed "very good friend" of mine in camp to do me a favour... Find all sorts of excuses to siam... Thx lor... Still say things like "oh next time after ORD probably the only person from our camp I'll contact is u cuz I dun really like the cmap ppl..." then ask u a favour only u siam so fast...

Parade rehearsal is tml!!! Hmmph... all the marching and commands and all all over again!!! Isn't BMT enuff... juz when I thought I had moved past that chapter the book flips back...

But the upside is the supposed 2 days off in lieu that will be given... *Grinz* Better give!

I wanted to put Kelly Clarkson's "Behind These Hazel Eyes" as the bkgrd song of my blog but apparently it cannot upload...

Somehow when I'm feeling down and out, I like to listen to these (mildly) "vengeful/spiteful" and ANGST-ridden songs... And just scream out along with the songs... esp the bridge for the above song.

SWALLOW ME THEN SPIT ME OUT
FOR HATING YOU I BLAME MYSELF
SEEING YOU IT KILLS ME NOW
NO I DON'T CRY ON THE OUTSIDE, ANYMORE

And yes I am obsessive compulsive...
And I don't exactly like that part about me.

I need to get organised!
I need more sleep!
I need to get more life!
I need to enter proper adulthood ASAP!

Food fest is from 2-6 Sept. I'm going!
Please support Kelly tonight ok?

YOU WON'T GET TO SEE THE TEARS I CRY
BEHIND THESE HAZEL EYES...
