Last day of freedom, being a tai-tai or towkay-wannabe or wadeva... NS is tml!!! (These exclamation marks are signs of distress not excitement... :S)
Ya so... hmm trying to blog for one last time before I go in? haha. I think I just wanna THANK THANK THANK all the nice ppl who took time out of their busy schedules to spend my last few days of freedom with me... thanks a lot ya. Woon, Ner, Zing, Renna, Aili, Ngai, Jan, Ray, Ren and ZhenYu... U guys made my last few days a lot more enjoyable... so yup thanks once again. Ok I shan't well in sadness. GONG XI FA CAI in advance and hope to see u guys during CNY ok? Peace out. A pretty sian-diao-ed Terence. Terence pens his legacy at 9:42 PM Another sickening day. Woke up at 12 noon which rquates to half my day gone... But had a late night last night tho, and slept at like 1.30? haha Anyway was very glad yesterday to meet up with frens yet again. Met up with Aili, Woon and Ner yesterday for lunch. At Thai Express at CityLink. The food there is real good and we were like talking about so much stuff. So nice to like sit down and chat our hearts out after school has finished. Kept talking and talking until the staff kept coming over to ask us if we wanted a refill of water. Woon and I saw that as a hint to invite us out but apparently Ner and Aili thought they were being friendly and were inviting us to stay longer by offering more water for our thirsty throats. haha. But we left after the 3rd time they asked la. Felt bad. Plus we were talking SO loudly heh. Then we went over to Delifrance next door where Aili got a drink and I got a tart and we continued talking and talking again haha. Then there was this table of students next to us and I think we kind of irritated them. Lol. Could see some irked faces. But we continued anyway la. Kept talking until I forgot the time and was late in meeting janelle. Then rushed rushed rushed to chinatown and forgot to take back the $16 Ner owed me. -.- Ya then went to chinatown and camped at the Mac's at Lucky Chinatown. Haha while ppl were early queuing at the roadside under the hot sun we were sipping ice lemon tea in an air-conditioned room. Lolz. Then at 6 plus we just conveniently made our way out and stood below this pavilion and peering out. But there was this large white canvas that was hung blocking the view of the main stage. Of course some ppl lifted the sides up and there was a small window through which ppl tried to squint at the stage. Then the Singaporeans got bolder and bolder and started to untie more and more of the strings holding the canvas in place, offering a larger area of view. Haha. So funny. Then when the police came to put the canvas back in its original position (down la) so many ppl's views were blocked. Then we suddenly got so united and started scolding and shouting and jeering at the policemen with phrases like "Dun selfish la!" "We are all Singaporeans leh!" The policemen gave up and tied the cloth up. Lolz. Then they moved on to anotehr section of the pavilion, which also had the canvas up. Then the familiar jeering came from the other side. So loud too! Haha. Guess I should be consoled that we can have the Singaporean spirit when we want to haha. Yup then saw and heard the firecrackers, the ncie and entertaining show (not too many boring items unlike last yr's) and of course the fireworks! The Jteam's presence also made the whole night livelier. Then went to Suntec for a real late dinner at ard 9 plus. Went to Pasta Fresca, and had fettucine carbonara. Quite nice, but got sick of it after about 60% of the plate. Then the worse part is that I din relaise (or maybe din read the small print) that I actually had to pay for both the carbonara "cooking" and the pasta! That means the price they show in the menu ($9.20) is not the full price la. They charged like $5.90 for the fettucine so it was like $15.10 for one not very large plate of pasta. -.- Plus got service charge summore la. Oh well I shoudl learn to read the smlal print next time. Always. Yup. Got in touch with my lively side yesterday. And definitely hope I can more often, but with NS coming I think it's hard... oh well... Terence pens his legacy at 8:34 PM haha so long nv blog... thought I would be furiously blogging after I get back from europe. Apparently not! Have been really tired and weary and restless lately. Suffering from a "lack-of-routine" syndrome. I guess I really miss school life? Haha. Like when we are still in school we know what to do everyday. Like just wake up wash up and catch that 6.23 bus to so and so and then blah blah blah. Then to lectures and tutorials at what time and looking forward to breaks and so on. Everything was planned and all we had to do was follow directions. Now, just wake up everyday (only good thing is that not at 5 plus!) and think: So what am I goign to do today??? Sigh... Anyway just so sian diao now that I cannot get to see the ppl in my class, my cca etc. Ya ya, may not actually have SO MANY frens but at least there are a few warm smiles and gossip to expect. Haha. Really miss u guys leh. At the pull-up bar, at the canteen, joking and gossiping and laughing and all during lectures and just about everything... I guess it's true that we will really miss school days once we are out of it right? Maybe mine just came a little too early?? Anyway I am relieved and in a way consoled? that I still have contact with some frens. Like really brings me back to Earth and slowly help me out of the teen track? And slowly into the adult track? Haha. Pit stop for now but I guess when NS comes I have to start running again. Literally. Then after that, thinking about the scholarships, universities and courses and all... OMG la. Maybe NS is a good escape for me. For my mind I mean. Can be relieved of the so much stress and burden it had accumuluated since school ever started. Ok I shall stop wallowing in my own depression. Ok maybe also not so depressing la. Hmm wadeva. NS starts next sat! (Or shld I scrape that exclamation mark?) All I cling onto is that thin thin piece of straw that so meekly bears truth that PES C's modified BMT is less trying and allows more room for kia si and weak recruits like me. Haha. I hope this straw grows fatter and fatter and finally becomes firm enough to hold onto by 22nd Jan haha. Ok now. Back to nth-to-do. (Games are getting so boring nowadays and pirated CDs are SOOOO difficult to find... :( ) Terence pens his legacy at 10:38 PM Whew. Back at long last. In touch with civilisation at last. Was like busy reading ppl's blogs, checking mail and stuff, and oh ya, like getting cleaned up after that 11 hour long ride. Anyway I thought it was good for me to go on this europe trip to see how europe is like since I so like want to study at germany. Cuz it wasn't as fantastic as like I imagined. Sure, there are like so many nice buildings and things and all but there are other small little things here and there that also make u think twice. And all these also make u appreciate ur ctry more. Anyway here's a list of why I love Singapore more after this trip: FOOD You would be forgiven if u are scared of eating bread and pasta and pizza after returning from europe. It's like bread bread and bread everywhere (and also the cheapest stuff to eat la, restaurant food is like, one meal there can get u a zhu3 chao3 feast back here). Bell would LOVE it there tho :) but not me. Every morning facing bread bread and more bread made me scared liao. And drinks there are quite ex too (esp in switzerland) except for mineral water. And also like finding chinese food ins ome ctries is so difficult and when u finally do it turns out to be so ex u think u'll prefer to go back to the food u face 24/7 - bread. (Think 3.95 euros = SGD $8.80 for three siu mais. Like eating gold nuggets... -.-) THANK THANK GOODNESS we brought instant cereal and noodles there or else I will hin2. And one more thing. I can open my mouth and let water flow into it then swallow it if I feel thirsty without having to fear if I will be hogging the bathroom the next day while I'm in singapore. LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION In singapore I get ard pretty fine with the tongues I speak, and I almost easily catch anyone talking bad about me in front of my nose. But there I can't, unless I pick up german and/or french. Dammit la sometimes at some cafes or supermarkets when I kick a small little fuss about their goods, or when sometimes we happen to be a little mroe hungry and take more time/food for breakfast, they start to mutter under their breathe in their tongues I can't understand. Grr... -.- And worse still in France when some ppl dun understand (and hate it too I guess) english or english-speaking ppl, they just mutter a few lines of french and dao u. yup they just raise up both hands opening both palms and skae their heads and move on to the person next in queue. Damn I hate those stinking french (parisians mostly). They dun even bother trying to make some sense out of the frantic actions and signs u are making... But ppl in Lyon are MUCH nicer tho, so the french are forgiven haha :) CLEANINESS This is the ultimate ultimate reason why I LOVE LOVE singapore so much. Simply becuz it's clean la. Now I truly truly appreciate the title of singapore being a CLEAN and green city. it's like in some cities (esp Rotterdam and frankfurt) u have to look at the floor as u walk. No it's not becuz we are more inferior than the caucasians or anything but because there are lots and lots of land mines there. Ya. Spits and dog poo EVERYWHERE! Did I mention EVERYWHERE? Yes I think I did. If u happen to be looking for some landmark and monument and u keep ur head up for just 10 steps, u're bound to find sth white or black or worse brown under ur shoe. And if u dun have a spare toothbrush to clean it my guess is ur shoes will be sleeping outside the hotel rm. Yup. As if being shorter than them is not bad enuf we still have to bow our heads. Ew. Yup that's about 1/2 of the ranting I have to do. Shall type the long long entries I write in my diary while in europe tml. Very tired now. Gotta nap. Laters. Terence pens his legacy at 11:14 AM |
